Just a quick post wishing everyone a Merry Christmas.

Obviously, Christmas is a bit different this year. To those who are celebrating the holiday season: How are you and yours celebrating? I’m spending Christmas day at my parents’. I live alone so it will be strange living in a house with other people for a day or so! 

To those who aren’t, I hope you have a great week.

  1. Merry Christmas, have a lovely time at your parents. Remember there’s no shame in needing a drink or two to get through it XD

    I’ll be spending Christmas period with my partner’s family as I also live alone so we’re in the same boat trying to put up with other people.

    I’m also spending christmas at my parents place, but I will be here for a whole week, so indeed will be weird living in a full house for that time haha

    Eggnog makes everything better 😉

    It’s just me and Mrs B, but that tends to be the normal for us anyway, so no change this year. We’re so introverted that covid hasn’t really changed our day to day schedule, hahahahaa 😀

      1. Really? I had no idea. I guess it is one of those things you grow up with and so assume “everybody” else did too 😀

        Thank you. It was everything we wanted. Singing traditional hymns, the Christmas message and just enough socializing (ie 10minutes worth) to make us feel like we’d done our part 😉

      2. Glad to hear you had a good time. 10 minutes socialising is plenty. Easier to leave with fond feelings towards people when you’ve not actually got to know them 😝

        American TV is so widespread that eggnog, although it is over here, just not overly popular, feels like a cultural memory due to US TV Xmas specials.

        We have something called Advocat which is a type of eggnog drink.

        Got two bottles of rum and some wine to keep me going 😉

  9. Merry Christmas!! 😄 Hope you have a wonderful holiday with your parents.
    So far, it’s a weird holiday for me. My family is big so I usually celebrate the holiday with a lot of folks, but it’s just with my parents and bro this year. And we have no black cake and no sorrell and no rum, which is like committing a crime to not have these things in a Jamaican household on Christmas. We are just very out of it and unprepared this year.

  10. Once again, Merry Christmas!

    I have a day off today, from Christmas/family duties, having spent Christmas Eve – the most celebrated part, in Poland, with family (sadly, half the usual number of people, due to the pandemic), I’m now enjoying Hearts of Iron 4 while in the background audiobooks and podcasts are playing… so, just a perfect day 😉
